Legal & Trust
Cookie Policy
MatchAsian uses cookies to keep every session secure, remember your preferences and power the fraud-detection tools our members rely on when they ask, is online dating safe? This policy explains exactly which cookies we set, why we set them, and how to control them in your own browser.
Why We Use Cookies and Is Online Dating Safe?
Cookies are small text files your browser stores so MatchAsian can recognize you between visits, keep you signed in, and detect unusual account activity. Is online dating safe on our platform? Safety here depends on more than cookies alone - it depends on the verification and fraud-prevention systems that cookies help power.
Every member profile passes government ID and live-video verification, and our 24/7 fraud investigation team relies on session and security cookies to flag suspicious behavior in real time. Cookies never replace that human review; they support it. For a full account of how we collect, store and protect your personal data, read our Privacy Policy. If you have further questions about account safety, visit our FAQ page.
Types of Cookies We Use
MatchAsian sets four categories of cookies, each serving a distinct function. None of them are used to sell your data to third parties. The table below summarizes what each type does and roughly how long it remains active on your device.
| Cookie type | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps you signed in, secures your session and supports fraud detection | Session only, cleared when you close your browser |
| Functional | Remembers your language, display and matching preferences | A limited number of weeks, refreshed on each visit |
| Analytics | Measures which pages and features members use most, so we can improve them | Several months |
| Preference | Remembers your cookie consent choices so we don't ask again on every visit | Up to about a year |
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You control cookies at the browser level. Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies through their privacy settings, and MatchAsian continues to function normally once essential cookies stay allowed. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from staying signed in or completing verification steps, so we recommend leaving them enabled. Continuing to use the platform after adjusting these settings is treated as consent under our Terms & Conditions.
Block or delete cookies
Choose to block third-party cookies or clear existing ones at any time.
Use private browsing
A private or incognito window limits cookie storage to that session.
Enable Do Not Track
Turn on your browser's Do Not Track preference where it is supported.
